ESU-DK is based in Copenhagen. Venues include a central café and the international schools for our talks and literary events. English-speaking Ambassadors have, from time to time, generously hosted events and we are particularly appreciative of their generosity in hosting the finals of the annual Public Speaking Competition.
We have close ties and co-operate with several English-speaking associations, exchange news and extend invitations to each other’s events. The Branch has a long-standing affiliation to the Cultural Confederation of Foreign Societies here in Denmark enabling our members to take part in a range of lively international events and exhibitions.
Through our links with staff of the University of Copenhagen and teachers’ associations, we have found speakers willing to address the ESU on a multitude of fascinating subjects, ranging from the arts and language to culture and science.
Introductory talks often precede our regular theatre outings to English-language theatre productions, after which we are given the opportunity to meet the cast and discuss the performance.
In joining the ESU, you become part of one of the most beneficial and worthwhile organisations.
By becoming a member of your national ESU branch you can enjoy its social, cultural and educational activities. You can attend ESU events around the world, meet the young people for whom we open new horizons, and, when you find yourself in London, you can visit Dartmouth House and benefit from its many facilities.
